Our mental health services

The SSMT clinic offers a mental health consultation service through a specialized mental health nurse practitioner (IPSSM) to improve your psychological well-being.

In Quebec, specialized mental health nurse practitioners (MHNPs) can offer a full range of mental health services, including the assessment and diagnosis of mental health problems in adults and adolescents, and the prescription and adjustment of medication. They also collaborate with other health professionals to provide comprehensive care according to patients’ needs. For example, they can refer patients for therapy.

We are able to assess, treat and monitor the following conditions:

Anxiety

Intense feelings of nervousness, worry or fear, often accompanied by physical symptoms such as muscle tension and accelerated heart rate.

Depression

Mood disorder causing persistent sadness, loss of interest in activities and changes in appetite and sleep.

Exhaustion

A state of extreme fatigue, often linked to chronic stress, overwork or sleep disorders.

Insomnia

Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, leading to poor sleep quality and daytime fatigue.

Personality disorders

Rigid, dysfunctional patterns of thought and behavior that cause problems in relationships and day-to-day functioning.

Grief

Emotional reaction to the loss of a loved one, often involving feelings of sadness, anger and confusion.

Bipolar affective disorder

Mood disorder characterized by alternating episodes of mania (or hypomania) and depression.

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by difficulties in maintaining attention, impulsive behavior, and, in some cases, hyperactivity. It affects the ability to focus, organize tasks, and control reactions, impacting both children and adults.

Substance use disorder

Problematic use of substances that results in distress or significantly impaired functioning.
